I did get hassled this time about only using 3 like coupons for one transaction at King Soopers.  BUT it's not like you can't do another transaction at another time to take advantage of the sale.  I usually at least go a different day but I've heard of people trying to con cashiers into making the ring up separate transactions one right after another.  Hey, it may work for some people but I'm not that bad!  Plus my KS seems to constantly restock!

IKEA's GRAND OPENING

I can officially say that I survived the madness!  It was the most "organized choas" that I have ever seen.  Down to directing traffic, where to park, what door to go in, everthing!  It was great.  The employees gave out free IKEA keychains, IKEA tape measures, post-it and pens.

My friend Jaz & I managed to get there around 8am and the doors opened at 9am.  There were plenty of people waiting in line already as you can see.  I guess I should have eaten breakfast!

We did manage to be within the first 2500 and received an envelope when we entered the main doors.  Unfortunately, we had a free hot dog and a free cinnamon roll between us, which we decided not to use because the lines were ridiculous.  (Plus we went down the street later to use our "free lettuce wraps" coupon at P.F.Changs at Park Meadows Mall - which you can print out if you like them on Facebook until July 31)

All in all, it was a great experience and I got great, affordable bedroom curtains, a bunch of knick knacks and plenty of ideas for future projects!

This woman on stilts was there to pose as we were getting to the cashiers.  I have NO idea what this is all about and it was rather interesting...thought I was at Cirque Du Soliel for a minute!

CHILI's Free Appetizer or Dessert, Valid only 7/27

Here's a coupon for either a FREE APPETIZER or DESSERT at Chili's.  It is only valid on Wednesday, 7/27.
Chili's Free App or Dessert - Get it Here.   - Email it to yourself and enjoy!

IKEA Centennial opens tomorrow at 9am!  I can't wait!  I do realize it will be insane but why not join the madness?  We all know it will be pure craziness for at least the first 6 months so why not go tomorrow?

Did you guys know that King Soopers doubles coupons every day up to the value of $1 (at least in Colorado).  This is one of my favorite places to get a deal using coupons.  I think that there store policy is not more than 3 like coupons per transaction but nobody has really enforced it....so far.  But again, I'm not buying 100 of anything either.

King Soopers doubles coupons up to $1.00 every day!
$0.25 coupon = $0.50 after doubles
$0.50 coupon = $1.00 after doubles
$0.75 coupon = $1.00 after doubles
$1.00 coupon = $1.00 the coupon will not double, but is worth face value.

Walmart Shopping Trip 7/19

Here is my latest shopping trip:

WALMART

3 Zyrtec 5 count packages: $5.27 - $5 off coupon = .27 cents each
Use this $5 off coupon (lower left hand corner) You should be able to print this at least 2 times.  Be aware that if you print it a third time, it might print a $5 off 70 count coupon instead of 5 count.

1 Bengay: $4.23 - $5 off = .77 Overage!
This was a printable coupon on coupon.com that is no longer available (good printable coupons become unavailable FAST)

8 Airwick Freshmatic Starter Kits: $4.98 - $4 = .98 each
Coupon from Sun paper insert 7/10

Subtotal BEFORE coupons: $59.88
Subtotal AFTER coupons: $7.88
Out of Pocket Cost after Sales Tax: $12.61 (have to pay sales tax on the original subtotal)

Hey...it works for me!  When I was putting the Airwicks in my cart, there was a manager and another woman doing price checks half way down the aisle from me.  I saw him looking at me from the corner of my eye and all I could hear were the words "they stockpile" and "it's crazy".  Does not bother me one bit.  Makes me laugh a little.  I must be getting this right then.

I did only have 5 in my cart originally and then I told my husband that I really wanted 8 because I had 8 coupons but thought that might be "a bit much".  He told me to just get 8.  He basically said that I was already getting 5...how would getting 3 more make it seem any more or less crazy.  I agreed with his sarcastic yet witty remark!

When I checked out, the cash register was beeping because it needed a manager override.  A different manager came over and asked the cashier if he had voided a high dollar item.  He looked confused.  I spoke up and told her no but that I had A LOT of coupons.  She looked at the receipt and said oh yeah, that why.  She got a smile on her face and said we just have to make sure you're not a scammer and laughed.  Whatever.  You could tell she really couldn't care less though and neither could I because I got a GREAT deal!

New to Couponing

So I just recently started couponing a few months ago.  I tried it before but always ended up buying products that I would not normally buy and for more money than I would usually spend.  And yes, I have to admit that I started after watching reruns of TLC's Extreme Couponing.  Do I think that buying $1,000 of groceries for $5 is feasible...no.  Do I need or would I ever buy 98 bottles of Hot Sauce...uh no.  But would I like to save money buying every day grocery items that I will actually use...stupid question.

So here the story starts.

In order to really take advantage of a good sale, you really need multiple copies of the same coupon.  I have been lucky enough to get mine from friends and family who give me their coupons from the Sunday paper.  Printable Coupons usually allow you to print the coupon twice (even more if you have multiple computers).

So I just started clipping and organizing and clipping (and reading blogs)....and this was my first extreme deal at Walgreen's:
8 tubes of Colgate Toothpaste: Sale price $1 - .75 off Coupon from Sunday paper insert = .25 each
2 Oral B Advantage Toothbrushes: Sale Price 2/$2 - $2 off 2 Coupon (Sun insert) = FREE
1 box of Walgreens brand Freezer Bags = Sale Price .69 cents
2 boxes Walgreens Brand Tampons = Sale Price $3.29 each Buy One Get One FREE = $3.29

Out of Pocket Expense: $2.95 (I used a $5 Register Reward from a previous purchase)
TIP: No matter what the cost, even if it ends up being free, you must pay the sales tax of the original sales price before coupons.  (Makes sense to me)

I loved this deal and I was officially HOOKED!
